Foundation and Leadership

Apex Technolplast commenced the journey in the industrial sector as Sahara Plastics Industries and Global Plastics in 1968, rapidly escalated to the forefront of custom injection moulding manufacturers erected its first few plants in the industrial zone of India, Mumbai.

Founded in 1955 by the visionary late Mr. Asgarali Jaorawala, who moved from Jaora to Mumbai at just 15, the company has thrived through innovation and leadership, achieving sustained growth and success. Today, we honor his legacy by expanding our reach,

Our History

1955
Humble Beginnings in Mumbai

At just 15, Mr. Asgarali Jaorawala moved from Jaora, Madhya Pradesh to Mumbai, stepping into the plastics world with grit and ambition.

Foundation of Sahara Plastics Industries

Our journey began in Byculla, Mumbai, with hand-moulded tea strainers, sunglasses, and fuel funnels. We soon expanded with injection and extrusion moulding to scale production and recycle plastic efficiently.

1973
Back to Roots – Jaora Expansion

A full-fledged moulding unit was established in Jaora to scale tea strainer production and introduce glue bottle caps.

Kurla Unit for Writing Instruments

We launched new unit with 6 injection molding machines in Kurla focused on plastic rulers (hand screen-printed), paint box pans, and bottle caps.

2006
Bombay Technoplast

We founded a sister company in Raj Prabha, Vasai with 15 moulding machines to manufacture mechanical pencils and glue tubes.

Vasai Expansion

The Highway unit in Vasai was established for printing and assembly of sketch pens, sharpeners, and pencil components.

2011
Apex Technopolymer

Venturing into polymer trading, we launched Apex Technopolymer to supply engineering plastics and resins— Embracing material innovation.

Tarapur Expansion

Two more units were set up in Tarapur with 12 molding machines, focusing on manufacturing lead tubes, crayons, and geometry boxes.

2014
Grip Writing Instruments Acquisition

With this acquisition, a 16-machine facility was established at Golani Naka, Vasai, expanding both capability and range by adding robust telecommunications products to our portfolio—marking a strategic diversification into high-precision plastic components.

Khopoli

A 55,000 sq. ft. modern plant with 45+ machines, blow moulding, automation, and warehousing was launched in Khopoli, Maharashtra—Our biggest, smartest, and boldest leap yet.
